
A knife needs respect. A blunt knife can also be dangerous because you tend to use more pressure when cutting.
Always use a stable cutting board. If it moves, place a damp cloth underneath it.
Keep fingers away from the cutting path. Never try to catch a falling knife.
Never leave knives hidden in a sink or under other dishes.
When carrying a knife, hold it securely with the blade pointing down and keep it close to your side.
Take your time. Good knife work is about control, not speed.
